Trademarks

Last Updated: March 2026

The Ceph Trademark Policy is administered by LF Projects, LLC. It supplements the LF Projects, LLC Trademark Policy, and together the two documents govern all use of the Ceph trade names, trademarks, service marks, and logos (the “Ceph Marks”). Where the two are inconsistent, the Ceph Trademark Policy controls.

Ceph Trademark Policy — March 2026 (PDF)

The policy is the authoritative document. In summary, it covers:

  • Overall guidelines — how the Ceph Marks may be referenced without being confusing, misleading, or damaging to the Ceph software, community, or marks.
  • Uses that do not require permission — such as referring to the Ceph software in presentations, publications, and marketing material, linking to the Ceph website, showing how your software integrates with Ceph, and making accurate compatibility statements.
  • Uses that require prior written permission — such as naming a modified version of Ceph, offering services or software that work with Ceph, use in a domain name, and use with non-software goods.

Please read the full policy before relying on any summary above.

Logos

Official Ceph logos are available for download from our Logo Usage page. Use only those official versions, as described in the policy.
